The company organizes its business through four distinct segments: Advanced Intermediates, Specialty Additives, Consumer Protection, and Engineering Materials. The Advanced Intermediates division supplies crucial industrial intermediates, foundational and fine chemicals, organometallic substances, and inorganic pigments. These offerings cater to various industries, including agrochemical, automotive, construction, flavor and fragrance production, semiconductors, photovoltaics, and color pigment manufacturing. Its Specialty Additives unit provides a range of additives, such as lubricants, flame retardants, plasticizers, and bromine derivatives. These products find utility across diverse applications in the rubber, plastic, paint, construction, and electrical sectors. The Consumer Protection segment encompasses material preservation products; disinfectant, hygiene, and preservative formulations; flavors and fragrances; and essential precursors and intermediates for the agrochemical, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries. This division also delivers technologies for water and other liquid purification. Finally, the Engineering Materials segment is responsible for manufacturing high-performance technical plastics, glass fibers, fiber composites, and urethane-based elastomers. These materials are extensively utilized in the automotive, electrical/electronics, construction, and medical fields, as well as sports and leisure applications. Established in 1863, Lanxess AG maintains its principal offices in Cologne, Germany.
