The company also operates as a broker-dealer for debt and equity securities, and is involved in the solicitation, syndication, selling, and arrangement of various equity and debt products, alongside offering financial, leasing, and management services. Established in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1986, Absa Group Limited adopted its current name in May 2018, having previously been known as Barclays Africa Group Limited.
