OncoSec Medical Incorporated was an immuno-oncology firm focused on the advanced stages of drug development. Its primary mission involved devising, perfecting, and bringing to market DNA-based treatments administered directly into tumors. These therapeutics were designed to activate and amplify the body's immune response to combat cancer effectively. The company's developmental portfolio was quite diverse. Key projects included KEYNOTE-695, which had reached Phase 2 trials for advanced melanoma, and several TAVO-based therapies. These included TAVO in combination with a SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein, undergoing Phase 1 evaluation for COVID-19, and TAVO combined with epacadostat and pembrolizumab, also in Phase 1 for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Further investigational treatments comprised TAVO alongside nivolumab, in Phase 2 for breast cancer; TAVO with CXCL9, aimed at solid tumors; and the compounds OMS-100 and OMS-102, both in Phase 2 trials for metastatic melanoma. OncoSec forged significant clinical trial alliances with Merck & Co., Inc. and its subsidiary, particularly regarding KEYNOTE-695 and KEYNOTE-890. Additionally, a research partnership with Duke University's Center for Applied Therapeutics explored TAVO's potential when combined or sequenced with a HER2-plasmid vaccine. Originally established in 2008 as NetVentory Solutions Inc., the company adopted the name OncoSec Medical Incorporated in March 2011. Its corporate headquarters were situated in Pennington, New Jersey. Crucially, OncoSec Medical Incorporated ceased its operations following a voluntary petition for Chapter 7 liquidation. This petition was filed on June 14, 2023, with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
