About SoftBank Group Corp.

SoftBank Group Corp., an expansive Japanese conglomerate founded in Tokyo in 1981, boasts a globally diversified business portfolio. Historically, its core operations have revolved around providing telecommunication services, both within Japan and on an international scale, covering mobile, broadband, and fixed-line communications, as well as the retail of mobile devices. The company's vast range of activities is organized into five key segments: Investment Business of Holding Companies, SoftBank Vision Funds, SoftBank, Arm, and Latin America Funds. Beyond its foundational telecom offerings, SoftBank has ventured into numerous other sectors. These encompass digital services such as internet advertising, online ad distribution, e-book services, and the development and management of fashion e-commerce platforms, including ZOZOTOWN. The group is also involved in designing mobile robots and operating a mail-order stationery business. Through its subsidiary Arm, SoftBank is a major player in designing microprocessor intellectual property and related technologies, alongside selling specialized software tools. In the energy sector, it focuses on generating, supplying, and selling electricity from renewable sources, complemented by associated services. Financially, the company manages alternative investments and various funds, offers smartphone payment and banking services, facilitates PC software downloads, and provides solutions for online businesses. Furthermore, SoftBank distributes a wide array of video, voice, and data content, manufactures and distributes IT products, and delivers comprehensive IT-related services. Uniquely, the group also owns and operates a professional baseball team, manages sports facilities including a stadium, and runs ITmedia, an IT information website. The company transitioned from its previous name, SoftBank Corp., to SoftBank Group Corp. in July 2015.
