For construction applications, Synthomer supplies water-based carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber, redispersible powders, flooring adhesives, and numerous additives. In the textiles sector, its offerings span impregnation binders, styrene butadiene copolymers, polymer dispersions, and butadiene-based binders. Synthomer also manufactures binders specifically for carpets, alongside synthetic binders utilized in graphic, packaging, and specialty paper coating, complemented by paper coating additives and plastic pigments. Its comprehensive range for general coating applications features binders, dispersions, water-based and solvent-borne resins, and related substances. Furthermore, the company produces foamed materials for bedding and footwear, and provides elastomeric modifiers for thermoplastics and friction components. It also delivers reinforcement resins for rubber compounds and latex for tire cords. Additional products comprise compounds and aqueous curing pastes, suitable for carpets and other uses, as well as acrylic monomers formulated to enhance the performance characteristics of polymer compounds. Antioxidant products are also part of its offerings. Synthomer is a key supplier of latices for a wide range of medical and protective uses, including examination gloves, clean rooms, food handling, chemotherapy drug handling, chemical laboratories, and medical devices and balloons. It notably provides nitrile latex, which improves the resilience and functionality of industrial and fabric-supported gloves. Beyond these, its industrial product line features liquid polybutadienes, polyvinyl alcohol suspending agents, polyvinyl acetates, thermosetting resins, butyl ethyl propanediol, and various inorganic materials. Finally, Synthomer supplies coalescing agents designed to improve the inherent qualities of coatings. Established in 1863, the company was formerly known as Yule Catto & Co. plc until it adopted its current name, Synthomer plc, in 2012. Its global headquarters are located in London, United Kingdom.
