About Terumo Corporation

Terumo Corporation is a global medical technology company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of a wide array of healthcare products and equipment. Its comprehensive operations are structured across three key segments: Cardiac and Vascular, Medical Care Solutions, and Blood and Cell Technologies. The Cardiac and Vascular segment provides an extensive portfolio for cardiovascular and interventional procedures. This includes angiographic guidewires, catheters, introducer sheaths, and vascular closure devices, as well as PTCA balloon catheters and both coronary and self-expanding peripheral stents. The segment also offers advanced imaging solutions like intravascular ultrasound and imaging catheters. For cerebrovascular interventions, it supplies coils, stents, and intrasaccular devices for cerebral aneurysms, alongside embolization systems, aspiration catheters, and clot retrievers for ischemic stroke treatment. Furthermore, products for cardiopulmonary bypass, such as oxygenators and complete systems, and artificial vascular and stent grafts are also part of this division's offerings. The Medical Care Solutions segment addresses general healthcare and patient care needs. Its product range encompasses essential medical consumables like syringes, various infusion and syringe pumps, infusion lines, IV solutions, and peritoneal dialysis fluids. Specialized products for pain management, nutritious food products, and adhesion barriers are also available. For home healthcare and personal monitoring, this segment offers blood glucose monitoring systems, disposable needles for pen-injectors, insulin patch pumps, blood pressure monitors, and digital thermometers. Additionally, it provides contract manufacturing services to pharmaceutical companies for prefilled syringes and other drug delivery devices used in drug kits. Finally, the Blood and Cell Technologies segment is dedicated to advancing blood collection, processing, and cell therapy. Its offerings include blood bags, component collection systems, automated blood processing systems, pathogen reduction systems, centrifugal apheresis systems, and cell expansion systems. Founded in 1921, the company was originally known as Sekisen Ken-onki Corporation, before officially changing its name to Terumo Corporation in October 1974. Terumo Corporation's global activities are directed from its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
